save the date! dinner and a movie w/ siam splendor on 4/29!
Eat a delicious dinner from Siam Splendour, owned by Orrington’s own Chantarangkul family, and learn more about why Evanston’s school attendance boundaries became such a charged issue through a streamed viewing of “Concerning Foster,” a Mudlark original play about Evanston’s children and the closing of the 5th Ward school. The Orrington PTA is grateful to be collaborating with Siam Splendour for this educational opportunity for our community. Stay tuned for more details!
orrington read-a-thon and fundraising update
Our Reading Eagles did a fantastic job, raising over $13,000 is just 2 weeks! Thank you readers and sponsors!
Prizes are being delivered today and should come home with in-person students. Remote students’ prizes are either being delivered home or can be picked up at school today or after Spring Recess. Special prizes for raffle winners from the “Share your Thon” selfie contest will arrive after Spring Recess. Families--we did our best figuring out the minutes read and prizes earned--please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org if we missed something. We had more than 124 students earn prizes! GO EAGLES!
Fundraising Update: We are off to a good start but have work ahead of us as we aim for our $43,000 target for One Fund by June 1st. All the money we raise at Orrington helps ensure that we are able to continue offering PTA enrichments and support at our school while also enabling all children in our community to experience equitable PTA programming at their schools.
To achieve this goal, one that was broadly and enthusiastically backed by Orrington families, we need your help! We will continue to collect donations, and will hold future fundraising events this spring. Click HERE to see all the ways you can make a contribution at ANY time!
Together, we can hit our target and help ALL Evanston schools thrive!
