LED Lighting Upgrades

LED Lighting upgrades and retrofittings are happening over the summer of 2022 in 11 schools across the district.

The positive takeaways from this work being done:

  • Improved lighting levels for students and teachers in areas of need
  • Teacher options for lighting levels in classroom
  • Reduction in electricity used (KWH/Yr) equals dollars saved
  • Maintenance cost and time reduced
  • Reduction in carbon emissions (CO2) by about 1500 metric tons per year, equivalent to 292 homes’ electricity use for one year
  • Estimated payback period after incentives are applied is 3-5 years
