Celebrate Earth Week with the District 65 Green Teams!

The District 65 Green Team created and shared lesson plans, Environmental Hero of the Day flyers, daily announcements, and much more with teachers to integrate into their curriculum. Lessons for K-2 focus on building an appreciation for the natural world, and lessons for 3-5 and 6-8 center around Environmental Justice. The week will close with the 10 Second Film Festival at 6:30pm in the Rotary International auditorium. We encourage everyone to wear green on Monday, Earth Day, or all week.

Save the date! Come celebrate Earth Week with the D65 Green Teams at 6:30pm on Friday, April 26 in the Rotary auditorium (1560 Sherman Ave.). We'll be screening ten second environmental films created by D65 students.

The 10 Second Film Festival will feature the short film ‘Plastic is Forever’ by 13 year old filmmaker Dylan D’Haeze. This will be followed by our own District 65 students’ short film creations. We welcome all of our students’ ideas on sustainability! This year, we’re particularly interested in thoughts on how to reduce our use of disposable plastic (for example: snack bags, straws and eating utensils). Enjoy seeing the children's voices and find out how you can become involved in environmental efforts in D65 schools. Visit https://10secondfilmfestival.com to submit a film; deadline is Wednesday, April 18.

Tickets are free but are required for entrance. There are a limited number available. Get your tickets through Eventbrite here.
