Tuesdays with TWI

Interested in learning more about the District’s Two Way Immersion (TWI) dual language program? Join us for Tuesdays with TWI! The Two-Way Immersion dual language program serves both Spanish-speaking English Learners (EL) and native English speakers. Over the next several months, District 65 TWI schools are inviting families interested in the TWI program to visit one of the classrooms and learn more about the program!

 

Bessie Rhodes, February 12, from 9-10am and 1-2pm
Dawes, February 19, 9:30-10:30am;

Dewey, February 19, 1-2pm
Oakton, February 26, 9:30-10:30am

Willard, February 26, 1-2pm
Washington, March 5, 9:30-10:30am or 1-2pm

 

Applying for the TWI Program -

Native English Speakers - Families of incoming kindergarten students may apply for enrollment in the Two Way Immersion (TWI) dual language program (for grades K-5). Incoming Kindergartners who are not offered a TWI seat are automatically placed on a wait list. A limited number of seats may become available during 1st grade (final opportunity to enter the TWI program).

New Student Registration Form (for new students - please note that an account must be created before form can be accessed)
Parent Portal (for current District 65 students)

Native Spanish Speakers - The TWI program is available to native Spanish speakers in grades K-5. Native Spanish students will receive a language assessment during the registration process to determine TWI placement eligibility. Parents of students who speak Spanish but are English-speaking dominant are encouraged to submit a regular application for the TWI progra
