All 3rd graders see Northwestern play “Frida Libre”
For the second year, all District 65 third-graders attended a play at Northwestern University. This year, through the Learn Imagine Through the Theater partnership, students saw Imagine U’s production of “Frida Libre.”
“During the play, the class was mesmerized by the singing, costumes, set and central message of the play, which is to follow your dreams,” Washington Elementary third grade teachers wrote in their newsletter.
The annual experience includes pre- and post-classroom activities, the theater performances, a production crew meet and greet, on-campus lunch, and a Northwestern goodie bag. View this behind-the-scenes video!
The purpose of the Learn Imagine Through the Theater partnership is to make theater accessible to all students. District 65 students also get to learn about the creative process behind a show and visit the Northwestern campus. We’re looking forward to next year’s show already!
