Each year, the Phyllis Ganser Committee awards the PTA Volunteer of the Year Award to a caregiver who has been nominated by the PTA of their school(s) within the district.

The Phyllis Ganser Outstanding PTA Volunteer of the Year Award was created by the PTA Council to honor Phyllis Ganser, who passed away in 2000 following a two-year battle with breast cancer. The intent was to present the award annually to commemorate Phyllis as a dedicated volunteer, her promotion of the welfare of all the district’s children, and her commitment to the goals of the PTA. Phyllis was the first recipient of this award.

Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the award was not bestowed during this school year and last. However, due to such an impactful school year, the committee has decided to honor the award to all PTA members within the district! The tremendous work of our PTA members in such a difficult school year - from fundraising for all students, collaborating to provide students with enrichment activities, and being a beacon of support for our school communities - did not go unnoticed.

The committee has shared a letter for all parents to review, expressing their gratitude and commemorating the efforts for this school year. Thank you to all of our PTA members for their unending support of our students and schools!
