School Age Childcare (SACC)
As part of our ongoing efforts to address the District’s financial realities, we are taking a careful look at all programs and services to ensure they are sustainable over time. Starting in summer 2026 and effective for the 2026-2027 school year, please note the following changes to the SACC program:
- Flex Care (previously known as Emergency Care) and Optional Care (on D65 half-days) will no longer be offered.
- SACC Summer Program will no longer be offered.
- At Washington Elementary ONLY, SACC before- and after-school child care will no longer be offered. Before- and after-school child care will continue at all other current sites.
Evanston/Skokie School District 65’s School Age Child Care (SACC) program provides a nurturing, supportive, and safe environment for children before and after the school day. The program is available to kindergarten through 5th grade students enrolled in District 65 elementary and magnet schools with the exception of Washington Elementary.
Children are grouped by age and engage in developmentally appropriate activities. These activities include story time, sports, drama, art, science, music, and both indoor and outdoor play. Literacy, enrichment opportunities, and academic support are integral components of the program, promoting well-rounded development.
Space is limited; however, every effort is made to accommodate families' needs at each site. All childcare locations are licensed by the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), ensuring compliance with state safety and care standards.
SACC services are offered during the school year from 7 a.m. until the start of the school day, and from the end of the school day until 6 p.m. Please note that childcare is not available on school holidays or staff professional development days.
Enrollment in SACC does not preclude children from participating in other after-school enrichment programs that include sports, clubs, or activities. However, SACC fees are based on enrollment, not attendance.

How to Register

- After completing the form, you will receive a confirmation email and request to complete required DCFS documents.
Enrollment is considered complete when all required documents, the registration fee, and the first payment have been completed. The annual USDA form will be available on this webpage after July 1. Families will receive a reminder email to complete the form.
SACC enrollment is required each year. Returning families must submit a new application annually.
SACC Fees
Fees are based on monthly enrollment, not attendance.
5 days per week (Monday-Friday):
- Before-School Care: $168
- After-School Care: $336
- Before and After School Care: $504
3 days per week*:
- Before-School Care: $118
- After-School Care: $235
- Before and After School Care: $353
*Parents must sign up for a consistent schedule on the same three days and sessions of the week
Initial fees for Before and/or After Childcare include a $50 non-refundable registration fee for the first child and $25 per additional child.
