Enroll in Early Childhood Education
District 65's Joseph E. Hill Early Childhood Center serves preschool children ranging in ages from 0 to 5 years old. You may register for the center's programs at any point during the calendar year. Parents and caregivers should complete the steps outlined below to register their infant or toddler student.

1. Contact Us
If you live within District 65's attendance area and have a child under 30 months old, please introduce yourself and your family!
Call our Enrollment Specialist at 847-859-8966, or fill out our infant-toddler Interest Form.
We request information, such as your name, contact information, your child’s name, and date of birth. This will allow us to add your child to our Recruitment List. We will notify you of available spots.

2. CCAP Eligibility Requirements
Our center-based infant-toddler program, Doorway to Learning, is partly funded by the IDHS Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP), which provides childcare subsidies for low-income, working parents. A full-time, 5-day approval is required for all families enrolled in our center-based program.
In order to be eligible for the required CCAP approval, your family must be:
- Income eligible (within 225% of the Federal Poverty Level).
- Employed and/or in school at least 25 hours per week Monday through Friday during the hours of childcare. (In a two-parent household, both parents must be employed and/or in school.)
Not sure if your family meets CCAP eligibility requirements? Check income eligibility with our CCAP pre-screening tool.
CCAP eligibility is not required for our Early Start home-visiting program.

3. Register with District 65
- Have you filled out our Interest Form?
- Have you verified that your family is CCAP eligible?
If you have completed the steps above, please continue to the District 65 Pre-Registration form below.
After the Pre-Registration has been submitted, you will be asked to submit the required documents (original birth certificate and proof of residence within District 65's attendance area) to finalize the registration. For registration-related questions, contact Registration at (847) 859-8065, or email registrationinfo@district65.net.

4. Eligibility Intake Meeting
After you have determined CCAP eligibility and finalized your D65 registration, our Eligibility Intake specialist will schedule an eligibility intake meeting with you. Proof of income will be required at the meeting.
Note: Space is limited, and selection is not guaranteed.
