About Our Schools

All District 65 students are taught by highly qualified educators in a variety of school settings:

  • (10) neighborhood elementary schools (grades K-5);
  • (3) neighborhood middle schools (grades 6-8);
  • (2) magnet schools (grades K-8);
  • (1) early childhood center (ages 0-5);
  • (1) school for students with significant special needs; and
  • (1) therapeutic day center (grades 3-8).

Neighborhood Schools

We know the importance of community and having schools in close proximity to students' homes. While transportation may sometimes be necessary, most of our schools are located within one mile. All of our elementary schools (K-5) feed into one of our three middle schools (6-8 grade). View our school feeder pattern.

Magnet Schools

To provide families with flexible options and students with specialized learning options, we offer two magnet school options that serve students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Dr. Bessie Rhodes School of Global Studies and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Literary & Fine Arts School draws students from across the district and offers a continuous school setting that differs from the traditional elementary or middle school experience. Each school has a specialized focus designed to appeal to children and families. View more information about our Selective Enrollment Options and magnet school programs.

Park School

Park School is a self-contained special education school that is jointly funded and operated by Evanston/Skokie School District 65 and Evanston Township High School District 202. Students, ages 3-22, benefit from a self-contained educational facility for reasons of safety, health, and/or the need for an intensive therapeutic environment. At the age of 16, many students are able to learn new skills in preparation for their future through participation in the job placement program. In addition, there are many services provided, including speech-language, social work, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and hearing and vision impairment services. Visit Park School's website for more information.

Rice Children's Center

Rice Children's Center is a therapeutic day school serving students who have identified social and emotional disabilities between grades 1 and 8. The classrooms are limited in size to provide a structured and supportive academic environment for the students to explore their academic talents. Visit the Rice Children's Center website for more information.
