Board Selects Alma Advisory Group to Lead Superintendent Search Process

Dear District 65 Community,

On behalf of the School Board, we are pleased to share that Alma Advisory Group has been selected to lead the search for the next Superintendent of District 65, pending contract approval at an upcoming meeting.

The selection of a search firm represents an important first step in what will be one of the most significant decisions we make as a Board. The Superintendent is the Board’s sole employee and is entrusted with leading our school district in service of our students, staff, families, and the Evanston/Skokie community.

We are grateful for the thoughtful input of all of our board colleagues throughout this process and for the opportunity to consider three highly qualified firms. Alma stood out for its flexible and highly personalized approach, deep roots in Illinois, national reach, and experience leading complex searches with robust community engagement.

Our School Board is looking for a generational leader who can build upon what is strong, advance academic excellence and outcomes for every student, and provide the financial management, organizational leadership, stability, and consensus-building necessary to position District 65 for a strong and sustainable future.

Just as important is how we get there. Our next Superintendent must understand District 65 and the role they are stepping into. And, while this decision is ultimately ours as a board, the process should be a reflection of the voices, experiences, and priorities from all facets of our community. Alma brings significant experience designing inclusive and accessible opportunities for stakeholder involvement, including during the finalist stage.

We are excited about what lies ahead and see this search as an investment in the future of District 65. Our goal is ultimately identifying a leader who can bring people together around a shared vision for our students and schools.
