District 65 will hold the required public hearings to consider the closing of Kingsley Elementary School at the end of the 2025-2026 school year. All hearings will be held at the Joseph E. Hill Education Center (1500 McDaniel Avenue, Evanston) on the following dates and times:

• January 21, 2026 at 6pm
• January 22, 2026 at 9:30am
• January 22, 2026 at 7:15pm

Spanish interpretation will be provided. The sole purpose of the hearings is for the Board to hear from the community and receive public input on the potential closure of Kingsley Elementary School. Board policy 2:230 regarding public participation will be followed and each speaker will be allotted three minutes and must sign up to speak. To ensure broad community participation, public hearings will last up to 90 minutes or until all registered speakers have had the opportunity to speak, whichever comes first. A total of three public hearings are being held so that all interested members of the community will have the opportunity to address the Board at one of those meetings. 

Capacity is limited in the Board Room and doors will open 30 minutes prior to the start of the meeting. Individuals may sign up to speak beginning at this time and through the start of the meeting. An overflow room with the live meeting feed will be available should it be needed.
