Newcomers

Curriculum experiences designed and delivered by teachers who specialize in working with second language learners to address language development and unfinished learning for students new to the country (having arrived between January 2024 to the present school year). The learning provides specialized support for academic development (eligible students scoring below 2.0 on ACCESS) as well as support in becoming oriented to systems, structures, and resources available in the school and community. 

Priority will be given to: Students with an EL designation and who have arrived in the country after January 1, 2024
