Wellness
Student Wellness & Mental Health
At the District 65 IESA/Sports Conference, we believe that a student-athlete's mental and emotional well-being is just as important as their physical health. Athletics should be a positive experience that helps students build confidence, resilience, friendships, and a lifelong love of being active.
We recognize that balancing school, athletics, family, and everyday life can sometimes feel overwhelming. Our coaches, teachers, counselors, administrators, and families work together to ensure every student-athlete feels supported, valued, and connected both on and off the playing field.
We're Here to Help
If a student-athlete is feeling overwhelmed, anxious, discouraged, or simply needs someone to talk to, we encourage them to reach out to a trusted adult. Asking for help is a sign of strength.
Support is available through:
- Coaches
- Local School Athletic Director
- School Counselor
- School Social Worker
- School Psychologist
- Building Administrator
- School Nurse or Health Clerk
- Trusted Teacher or Staff Member
Supporting the Whole Student
The District 65 IESA/Sports Conference is committed to developing the whole child. Our goal is to create an athletic environment where every student-athlete feels safe, respected, included, and supported while learning valuable life skills through sport.
Together with our families and school communities, we strive to ensure that every student-athlete has the resources they need to succeed academically, socially, emotionally, and athletically.
