• Greetings Dewey Community,

It is such a pleasure to lead Dewey Elementary as the principal of the school. I am a Chicago native with vast experience in the field of education. I actually began my career as a Special Education Teaching assistant and transitioned through different roles as my interests evolved and my leadership capacity expanded. Now, I love serving as a principal. As the school's principal, I enjoy working with students, parents, educators, and community members. Evanston welcomed me with open arms and I'm so glad to be here.
Dewey is a treasure that is loved by the community. We take pride in providing a learning environment that supports student learning while fostering joy and having fun. Both learning and fun are very important to me. When our students look back on their experiences at Dewey, I hope they're able to do so with a smile.
Despite the challenges presented by Covid-19, I am committed to maintaining the unique essence of Dewey. We are doing our best to preserve Dewey traditions while prioritizing health and wellness as outlined by Covid-19 guidelines. I acknowledge that things are different this year, but I'm so glad we're still on top at Dewey. Our students are engaged in learning. Our educators pour love into their work. Additionally, the community is supportive of the work we do. For that, I am grateful.
Please know that I take pride in my role as a servant leader at Dewey. My professional values are aligned with my personal values. I strive for equity in all things, I am a giver, I am passionate about health & wellness, and I'm a reader. I'm relationship centered. My family means the world to me! I sing in a choir, volunteer in the community, and I have several mentees whom I adore. I am fortunate to have a host of incredible friends as well.
I am a resource for you. We are partners in education.  Do not hesitate to reach out to me if you ever need anything. At Dewey, we succeed together!
I am proud of all that Dewey has already achieved and I look forward to all that we will accomplish together.
