• communication

At Washington Elementary School we value two-way communication between home and school. There are several formal school-to-home communication mechanisms that are part of the Washington community.

    Washington Weekly News
The primary communication mechanism is the Washington Weekly News (WWN). This is sent out to all families via email on Monday mornings. The PTA and school provides a paper copy to all families who do not have access to email.

    Washington School E-folders
The second weekly communication is e-folders. All families will receive a weekly email with a link to the school, district, and community flyers. School and district flyers are provided in paper for families who do not have access to email.

    Washington School ListServe
Families who would like to enroll in the community listserve (this is not school sponsored) may do so by going to www.groups.google.com/group/WashSchool. The listserve has important community news and events.

    Twitter
Washington School has a twitter account. You can follow our school @District65Washington.

    Classroom Communication

Your child’s classroom teacher will provide classroom to home information at least monthly. Some teachers will provide classroom newsletters while other will provide monthly emails. If you would like to communicate with the classroom teacher directly you should email or call them to set up an appointment. Please know that phones do not ring in the classroom during the school day, so if you need to communicate to your child during the day please call the main office and we will send a note down.
