Jill Anderson

Jill Anderson received her Bachelor’s degree in Special Education at Illinois State University, and Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Principal certificate at Northern Illinois University.  She is entering her 13th year in special education, starting as a teacher for high school students with multiple disabilities, and most recently, as an Assistant Principal at a similar public day school for students with moderate to significant needs including Autism, Cognitive Impairments, communication, sensory, and social emotional needs.  She has a great deal of experience collaborating with and leading teachers on curriculum and assessment development, transition planning, safety, and behavioral concerns.  She is an advocate for her students and strongly believes in regular collaboration with families. Her experiences both as a teacher and an administrator have shaped her philosophy of education: that all students can learn and make growth and should be taught skills needed to continue to learn for the rest of their lives.
