Board Vacancy Information

  • Marquise Weatherspoon, member of the Evanston/Skokie School District 65 Board of Education, submitted her resignation, effective August 8, 2022.  Ms. Weatherspoon’s board service began in 2021. She served on the Curriculum & Policy Committee, the Park School Advisory Committee, and the Head Start Parent Planning Committee.

    "On behalf of the school board, I would like to thank Marquise for her service on the District 65 board,” said Sergio Hernandez Jr., Board President. "Marquise's lived experience and commitment to community service will be truly missed."

    To fill the vacancy, the Board of Education will seek applicants from across the District 65 community. In order to be eligible to serve, a school board member must be a citizen of the United States, at least 18 years of age, a registered voter, and a resident of the State of Illinois and Evanston/Skokie School District 65 for at least one year.

    Applications are available online and at the Joseph E. Hill Education Center (1500 McDaniel Avenue, Evanston). Application documents must be submitted by Friday, September 2, 2022 at 4pm.

    The applicant selected will be announced at the September 19, 2022 Regular Board Meeting.
