ASSESSMENTS AT KING ARTS

    King Arts teachers utilize assessments to inform their instruction. Some assessments are linked to teacher evaluation but all assessments aim to provide teachers with a comprehensive understanding of students performance and inform goal setting for individuals, classes and grade level teams. Below is more information on assessment:

    PARCC - PARTNERSHIP FOR ASSESSMENT OF READINESS FOR COLLEGE AND CAREERS

    Previously known as the ISAT, the PARCC assessment is a common core aligned assessment. This year (2015) is the first year that District 65 will administer the PARCC assessment to its students - math, reading and science. This assessment will be given to 3rd to 8th grade students.     ISEL - ILLINOIS SNAPSHOT OF EARLY LITERACY   

    This assessment is used by kindergarten-fifth grade teachers, as needed. In kindergarten, ISEL is used to progress monitor alphabet recognition, phonemic awareness, letter sounds, word recognition and story comprehension. In the upper grades, vocabulary and fluency tests are used. For more information, follow the link

    DRA - DEVELOPMENTAL READING ASSESSMENT

    This assessment is administered by a teacher to determine a student's independent and instructional reading levels and indicates a student's areas of strength and weakness as readers. There is also a progress monitoring tool for the DRA, called the DRA2. 

    MAP -  MEASURES OF ACADEMIC PROGRESS

    The MAP assessment is administered to kindergarten through eighth grade students at different points in the year. Administered by computer, these assessments provide a comprehensive look at each student's math and reading skills.  For more information, click the link
