Foreign Languages at Rhodes

  •

At Dr. Bessie Rhodes School of Global Studies, students have the option to learn two languages.

Mandarin and Spanish are taught as a 'special' one day a week, once a week for half a year in 1st-5th grade. Students switch half way through the year from one language to another. In 6th grade students have class three days a week, with one semester of  Spanis and the other semester in Mandarin. (The other two days a week there is advisory.

In 7th and 8th grade, there is a combination student choice/lottery where students choose which language they would prefer to concentrate on. The class is then every day for the full two years.
