Chute Middle School Athletics
Athletics are considered an integral part of a student’s educational experiences. The goals of a middle school athletics’ program incorporate acquisition of skills, knowledge of game strategies and rules, collaboration, competition, responsibility, and a sense of school pride.
The District's competitive interscholastic sports program does not replace intramural activities. Intramural, by definition, is an in-house competitive opportunity that do not require academic eligibility and that are non-cut activities. These will continue to be available for interested middle school students. For students seeking higher levels of competitions in soccer, volleyball or basketball, there is an opportunity to tryout and play in a competitive interscholastic league that includes scheduled practices, a study table, and scheduled games between other District 65 middle/magnet school teams. Other features of the interscholastic program include parent and student-athlete meetings, and bus transportation to away games (parents are responsible for student transportation from school to home after each game).
To assure quality coaching, officiating, program consistency including school uniforms, students will be required (unless exempt from school fees) to pay a participation fee.
