To provide high-quality fiscal and business services in a customer-oriented environment to schools, departments, and the public while providing accountability.
The Business Department is responsible for overseeing the financial and business operations of District 65. Areas of oversight include financial planning, budgeting, purchasing, fiscal accounting, fees, financial reporting, grants, insurance, payroll, transportation, food services, and accounts payable and receivable. The department also oversees construction projects and district facilities including the warehouse.

On April 22, 2019, the District 65 School Board approved a resolution declaring the intention to issue $5,500,000 Working Cash Fund Bonds for the purpose of increasing the District’s Working Cash Fund and to save on interest costs.
