Our district libraries serve multiple roles within a school. We teach students, manage library collections, collaborate with teachers, and engage with students to find the perfect book.
-
Mission
The D65 Library is committed to equipping students with diverse resources, skills, and tools to be responsible learners in a global society. We work with students, staff, and community members to develop digital & media literacy, information literacy, and literature appreciation. All students will engage in creativity, collaboration, problem-solving, and inquiry to grow as independent learners and to have access to authentic experiences and explorations. The Library Department acts in alignment with the District’s commitment to equity and celebrating diversity and the commitment to critical thinking.

Resource Management
District libraries maintain a collection of over 150,000 titles as well as an eBook collection. Our collection development policy guides selection of materials. Our goal is that every child finds a book that speaks to themselves and leads them in lifelong explorations by understanding that the library is a space for all.
Collaboration & Instructional Support
The library department works with all areas of the school. We lend materials, co teach and support classroom or special teachers, create bibliographies, and help locate resources.
Readers Advisory/Circulation
Librarians love nothing more than being able to find the right book for the right person. Students and staff are encouraged to check out books and engage in reading for pleasure and learning.
