If that describes you, D65 is looking for you! Here is the process you need to follow to take the next steps into your future career as a D65 educator.
Apply to become a CREATE 65 Resident
The CREATE 65 Teacher Residency has three phases of the application process. Interested candidates are encouraged to navigate to the links below to learn more about the specific requirements of each phase. Phase One - Online D65 Application
Apply to the CREATE 65 Teacher Residency by completing the application form.
- Complete the online CREATE 65 Teacher Resident Application along with the following steps:

- Upload your current resume to the application.
- Uploading unofficial transcripts from of ALL the higher education institutions you have attended to application.
- Submit a two-minute video that answers all of the following questions

- Who are you? (background, skills, talents, interests)
- What grade(s) and subject area(s) you would like to teach?
- Why do you want to become a teacher?
- Why is equity important in education?
This video should be emailed to CREATEinfo@district65.net with “Video Submission” and the applicant's name in the subject line of the email.
Once Phase 1 is complete, your application will be reviewed within 2 weeks of receipt. If you meet eligibility requirements, you will be invited to move to Phase Two in the application process.

Phase Two - University Application and Essays
- Apply for the Master’s Degree Program at Chicago State University

Based on your Phase One application, CREATE 65 staff will work with applicants to decide which university program will meet your goals. Do not apply for the Master’s program until you have discussed this with CREATE 65 staff.

Phase Three - Selection Day

This is the third and final phase of the CREATE 65 application process. It is an opportunity for applicants to demonstrate their skills and talents in action and meet key CREATE 65 team members from District 65 and our University Partners.
Only selected candidates will be invited to attend Selection Day.
Selection Day activities may include:
- Introduction Presentation
- Lesson Demonstration
- Residency Exercise
- Interview Questions
After Selection Day, up to 10 candidates will be offered a position as a CREATE 65 resident in the next cohort. Notification will be made within two weeks of Selection Day.
