JumpStart is a summer program designed to give Kindergarten bound students who are exiting JEH additional support needed to prepare them for Kindergarten. Students are selected by analyzing data to determine the students most in-need of this additional academic support. The foundational components of JumpStart are rooted in Kindergarten readiness skills, with an intentional, intense focus on letter recognition, phonemic and phonetic awareness, and foundational math concepts.
As a note, students and families do not need to apply to this program as it is invitation-based. Families will receive a direct invitation for their students to apply to this program from Joseph E. Hill Early Childhood Center administrators.
