orrington READ-a-thon Starts sunday february 21st!
Orrington students, get ready to READ! Students received a paper copy of all the Read-a-Thon forms from their teacher today, plus an EAGLE READER KEYCHAIN to hang prizes on. (Students not attending in-person can pick up theirs on the school porch, at Fleetwood-Jourdain, or we will deliver—look for the email from Dr. Plaza)
We are reading for the love of it, and we hope everyone participates! Our primary goal is to have a fun reading challenge that we can all do together. Our secondary goal is to raise PTA funds that will go to support enrichment and community-building opportunities for ALL students in ALL schools across our District 65 community, including Orrington. We are all in this together now, and we are excited to embrace the challenge and the opportunity.
The book bins in front of school are stocked with books just waiting to be read. A new load of books just went to Fleetwood-Jourdain. We will be raffling off books to students who log on to Orrington’s first virtual Literacy Night on 2/23, and we will be having fun raffles during the Read-a-Thon. Eagles, let’s do this! Get ready! Get set! Get READING!
please join the PTA nominating committee
The PTA nominating committee helps find people to fill roles on the PTA Executive Board. Anyone can participate! If you think you might want to fill one of these roles yourself, this is a great way to learn more about the open positions. We are always excited to have new volunteers join this process! Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you’re interested in helping.
