Enrolling Children into JEH Early Childhood Programs (Ages 3-5)


  • District 65's Early Childhood Center serves children ranging in ages from 3 to 5 years old. You may register for the program at any point during the calendar year. In order to become eligible for the program, you must complete the steps listed below: 

    STEP 1 - DISTRICT 65 REGISTRATION PROCESS
    Parents/guardians must complete the following registration steps in the order listed below:

    • Complete a District 65 Online Registration Form
    • Submit required residency documents (click here to view details) via email (residencydocuments@district65.net), or in-person at: 1500 McDaniel Ave
    • Show original birth certificate in-person at JEH (required by State of Illinois) to complete registration requirements

    Upon successful completion of the District's registration process, you will receive an "Early Childhood Registration Summary (also known as the "registration receipt"). 

    Step 2 - Program overview  
    After completing District 65 Registration and in receipt of the Early Childhood Registration Summary (registration receipt), you will be directed to deliver the registration receipt to the JEH Early Childhood Center serving children 3 to 5 years old. A JEH Family Support staff member, will contact you to discuss programs’ requirements and schedule an Intake meeting to begin your child’s enrollment process.

    Step 3 - intake meeting
    During your intake/enrollment meeting with a Family Support staff member, a JEH Health Clerk with also meet or schedule a meeting with you to complete your child's intake.  

    Step 4  - selection process
    Upon providing necessary documents and completing all program requirements for enrollment, your child will be entered into the selection process. Early Childhood Center selection for enrollment occurs in July.

    The selection process is based on federal and state program requirements as well as students’ needs. As soon as this selection process is completed, you will be notified as to whether or not your child was selected into a JEH Early Childhood program.

    Once selected, a Family Support Specialist will schedule a meeting for you to complete enrollment. In the event that your child was not selected, your child will placed on our waiting list, and you will you be notified when a slot becomes available.
