    Sandy McDermott Scholarship Information 

    This scholarship is in honor of Sandy McDermott to remember her devotion and dedication to Nichols Middle School.
    In her memory, Nichols sponsors an annual Walk-A-Thon to raise funds for the American Heart Association and to provide scholarship opportunities to ETHS graduates.
    $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to two female and two male ETHS seniors who are graduates of Nichols Middle School.
    Scholarship Requirements:

    Applicants must:

    • Be a graduate of Nichols Middle School

    • Be College Bound (Either 2 or 4 years)

    • Have completed 3-4 years of high school math

    Applicants must submit 2 essays:

    • Must be typed

    • Double space in 12-inch font.

    • 1-3 pages

    Essay 1 – Mandatory

    1. Mrs. McDermott was a positive role model at Nichols.  Choose a Nichols staff member and describe how he or she influenced you, and what life lessons he or she taught you.

    Essay 2 – Select one of the following topics

    1. Reflect on and describe the journey of your education from elementary school through high school. How has your journey impacted your choices?

    2. Choose an activity you are involved in (academic, extracurricular or community) and explain how it has enriched your life.

    3. What are your aspirations for the future? Describe yourself going forward from this point.

    Your completed Application must be postmarked no later than: April 25th, 2016
