• Family and Community Engagement in District 65

“We cannot do it alone.  Teachers, students, families, community members and partners all have a stake in the success of District 65.  It is critical for us to build strong relationships with all families and community partners and to maintain our commitment to effective and welcoming customer service. To support the success of all children we must work together, share ideas and concerns, and collaborate in positive and creative ways.”

    -Dr. Goren, District 65 Superintendent
Engagement starts with a welcome smile, staff that listen and care, and a deep commitment to partner with families and the community in educating children. District 65 is committed to creating a variety of ways to engage and welcome families into our schools. During the 2014-2015 school year, the District embarked on a strategic planning process grounded in research conducted at the University of Chicago Consortium on Chicago School Research. This research identified five essential supports for school improvement, including family and community engagement (F.A.C.E.).
