This school year, the D65 School Board is hosting its own Community Cafe series as an informal opportunity to connect with the community. The next cafe will be held on Saturday, December 16, and hosted by Board Vice President Anya Tanyavutti and Board Member Rebeca Mendoza.
Legislation was passed in Illinois earlier this year that requires preK-5th grade schools and daycares built earlier than 2000 to conduct testing for lead contamination in water. As of December 11, District 65 has received the results from testing completed at all K-5 and magnet schools. While not required, testing will be conducted in middle schools after winter break.
Congratulations to our two recipients for the month of November - Ms. Margaret Rothe, Social Worker at Nichols Middle School (Licensed Staff category) and Ms. Sonya Werner, Paraprofessional at the JEH Early Childhood Center (Educational Support Staff category).
