 District 65’s School Age Childcare Program provides a nurturing, caring and safe environment for children before and after school.
School-age childcare is available for children enrolled in District 65 schools, kindergarten through 5th grade, ages five through 12.
Childcare services are provided at the ten elementary school sites and both magnet school sites during the school year on school days. Childcare is not offered during District 65 school holidays. However, an Optional Care program is available on school improvement and non-attendance (institute) days for a non-refundable, additional fee.
School-age child care offers a planned curriculum; homework assistance, oral reading and story time, arts and crafts, music and drama, nutrition projects, science exploration and much more.
Families may register for AM care only, for PM care only, or for both sessions.
Before care begins at 7:00 am and ends when school begins.
Fees, for the 2010-11 school year are as follows:

* Initial fees include a $50.00 non-refundable registration fee for 1st child and $25.00 for each additional child*
* Payments are paid in 2 weeks installments at a time*
* Address payments to D65 Child Care and indicate your child's name or id# on your payment*
Optional Care for the entire school year (10 days covered) is $250.00
After care begins at the close of school and ends at 6:00 pm. There is a late charge for every minute after 6:00pm. Children are served a nutritious, USDA approved breakfast and snack daily (monthly menus are available at each site).
Space is limited at each site and availability is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Families registering for child care must provide a copy of a physical exam and TB test results (or waiver on physician stationary) dated less than 12 months from their actual start date in the school-age child care program. A copy of the child's birth certificate, hearing and vision screening test are also needed to complete the annual child care registration. If children are under age six, the date and results of a lead test are also required. In addition, families must pay the first two or three weeks of care (depending on start date) and applicable fees at the time of registration. Other documents are provided in the annual child care registration packet available from the (JEH) Early Childhood office located at 1500 McDaniel Avenue, Evanston.
