Positive Behavior and Intervention Support (PBIS)
WHAT IS PBIS?
PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports. It is a system of behavior management and support that helps teachers adopt and organize behavior interventions. PBIS is a system focused on preventing behavior issues for all students and creating an environment that enhances academic and social outcomes throughout the school.
At Dewey, PBIS is supported through four main components: expectations, referrals, Tiger Tickets, and celebrations. The goal is to create a positive environment where children learn to own their behaviors, correct their mistakes, and develop empathy for others. To learn more, click on the resources listed below.

Two-Way Immersion Program
Dewey Elementary School is proud to offer the Two-Way Immersion (TWI) program for students in grades K-5. This program provides students with an opportunity to learn in Spanish and English. Click here
