Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS)

Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) is the District 65-adopted approach to behavior intervention and supports that help children achieve important social and learning outcomes while preventing problem behaviors and improving school climate. Please use the links on the left-hand side of the page to learn more about PBIS or visit www.pbisillinois.org or www.pbis.org

Behavioral Expectations
There are four rules that we expect everyone in our Dawes School community to abide by. These rules are:
  1. BE RESPECTFUL
  2. BE SAFE
  3. BE HERE, BE READY
  4. BE CARING
These rules, along with a matrix of expected behaviors in a variety of school locations, are posted in each classroom and throughout the school. Click here to download a copy of the classroom behavior matrix. Escuela Dawes matriz del programa PBIS
