D65 Green/Sustainability Ad Hoc Committee
The Green/Sustainability Ad Hoc Committee was established pursuant to a vote of the Board of Education, which has been annually renewed since the committee's inception in 2007. The committee reviews and makes recommendations designed to improve district practices and participation in efforts and organizations that promote a greener future.
Evanston/Skokie District 65 Green/Sustainability Ad Hoc Committee Mission Statement The Evanston/Skokie School District 65 Green/Sustainability Committee’s objective is to review, assess and recommend operational and educational initiatives relative to environmental practices, embracing the needs and participation of D65 students, parents, staff, administration and community.

Meetings are open to the public and to public comment. The meetings are held as often as monthly, usually at the Joseph E. Hill Education Center, 1500 McDaniel Avenue, Evanston. Meeting agenda are posted in compliance with the Illinois Open Meetings Act, including the posting on this page of the district's web site.
Committee membership includes board members, District 65 administrators, teachers, parents and representatives from the community. Board Member representatives are Katie Bailey, Chairperson, and Richard Rykhus.
