An investment in our schools is an investment in the future
 
On December 19, 2011 the Evanston/Skokie District 65 Board of Education adopted a resolution to place a $48.2 Million capital project referendum on the March 20, 2012 ballot.  These funds are intended for the following use:
  • build eight classroom additions at each Haven Middle and Nichols Middle Schools
  • upgrade science labs to support STEM initiatives at Chute, Haven and Nichols Middle Schools and King Lab Magnet School
  • construct space at Bessie Rhodes Magnet School for boys’ and girls’ locker rooms
  • construct a new, state-of-the-art K-5 school in the Central Core community of Evanston
  • complete a number of life safety-identified and infrastructure projects at the middle and magnet schools, including new safe entries with welcome centers.
