Using D65 Facilities and Distributing Flyers in Schools
 
District 65 supports its school community by allowing certain non-school entities to distribute approved materials at school or use its facilities for community activities and events.  Approval to distribute materials/flyers/information or approval to use a school facility must comply with School Board Policy.
An approved application is needed to distribute materials flyers.jpgAs outlined in school board policy 8:25 Advertising and Distributing Materials in Schools by non-school Entities, community, education, charitable, recreational, or similar groups may advertise events pertinent to students' interests or involvement. This may include displaying posters in areas reserved for community postings, distributing flyers to students, or being included in the school's or District's website where appropriate.  All materials and literature must be pre-approved for posting or distribution, be student-oriented, and have the sponsoring organization's name prominently displayed.  Deliver or send (fax 847 328-7459; email Sherry Grefenson) a completed copy of the application for approval to distribute materials.pdf form with a copy of the information/materials to be distributed to the Registrations & Permits desk at the Joseph E. Hill Education Center, 1500 McDaniel Ave., Evanston. Please allow three working days for applications to be processed.
No individual or organization may distribute materials without prior approval. Commercial companies and political candidates or organizations are prohibited from advertising in schools, on the school grounds, or on school or District websites. Questions about the distribution of materials should be directed to the Information Services Department (847-492-5887).

As outlined in board policy and board-approved procedures, a Building Use permit, Hold Harmless agreement, and where applicable, City of Evanston Temporary Food Event Permit*, Certificate of Insurance, and fees are required (see forms in the table below).
Applications to use space within a school require prior approval of the building principal. Applications are reviewed to ensure availability and to identify required documentation and fees. Use of space at the Joseph E. Hill Education Center (JEH) is available only for district, school or PTA-sponsored activities.
Completed applications can be faxed (847-328-7459), mailed, or dropped off at the reception desk located in the first-floor lobby at 1500 McDaniel Avenue, Evanston, IL. Only completed applications with all required documentation will be processed. Applications are processed in the order in which they are received. Please allow up to 10 days for applications to be processed. Applicable fees are due seven days prior to the activity. 
No individual or organization may use District 65 facilities without a valid permit, payment of applicable fees, and submission of all required documents as listed below.
