2011 Citizens’ Ad Hoc Budget Committee
Summary  During the summer of 2011, Evanston/Skokie School District 65 invited residents (including parents), faculty, and staff members to apply to serve on the 2011 Citizens' Ad Hoc Budget Committee to review, discuss, and recommend ways to address deficits projected for the 2012-13 school year.  Of the more than 40 applications received, the following members were selected to review, discuss and recommend to the District ways to address the projected $5.8 million budget deficit that is expected for the 2012-13 school year:

Members: Jorge Alonso, Lawrence Bryne, Bob Eder, Mary Erickson, Susan Greene, William Hogan, Doug Holt, Kaquana King, John Kosiba, Colby Lewis, Carol Lind, Gail Lobin, Les Lynn, Therese McGuire, George P. Mitchell, Tom Mulhern, Andy Rolfe, Jill Zimmerman
Additionally, one representative from each bargaining unit from among District 65 employees was invited to participate.  Jean Luft, DEC President; Jackie Gentles (or Elaise Bost) DESC President, Edna Johnson, Teacher Assistants Association President, Natalie Copper (or Mario Chess) School Age Child Care Association President, and Eddie Reeves, Custodial-Maintenance Association President.
Committee recommendations will be advisory to the Superintendent to inform recommendations to the Board. The Superintendent shall review the recommendations, provide a brief analysis of the potential cost savings, and share the recommendations with the District 65 Board of Education for further review and development of a formal plan to address the budget shortfall.
