The District 65 School Board is seeking interested residents to fill a vacant seat. Those interested must submit an application and resume by January 19, 2017 at 4pm. The term of the appointed board member will run until the April 2019 election.
On Tuesday, January 10, the District 65 School Board unanimously approved a resolution to put a question on the April 4, 2017 election ballot asking for authorization to increase property taxes to support school operations.
On January 9, the District 65 team welcomed Dr. Elizabeth Cardenas-Lopez as its new Director of Literacy. She joins the Curriculum and Instruction Dept and will oversee literacy efforts to support all children in District 65.
